ColdFusion MeetUp: Relax, It’s Only Data! A Gentle Introduction to CouchDB, with Matt Woodward

Our 12pm (US ET) talk on Thursday August 18 will be “Relax, It’s Only Data! A Gentle Introduction to CouchDB”, with Matt Woodward.

TOPIC DESCRIPTION: (provided by the speaker)

CouchDB is a document-oriented, schemaless, “NoSQL” database built entirely around standard Web technologies such as HTTP, REST, JSON, and JavaScript. CouchDB has been described as being built “of the web” which makes it the perfect datastore for Web applications.

This presentation will cover the basics of CouchDB, discuss the change in mindset necessary when working with CouchDB versus a traditional relational database, and demonstrate how to use CouchDB in your CFML applications.

Come to this presentation to gain a working knowledge of CouchDB and a much more relaxed attitude towards your data.

Freedom, a 9/11 Musical Tribute

Freedon, A Musical Tribute to 9/11

Ten years ago on 9/11/2001 our country was shaken with attacks in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC.  In our darkest period of recent history, good conquered evil as America and patriotism began to soar out of its people.  East Ridge High School and our newest performance ensemble, Rhythm of the Knight, as well as guest artists from Disney cordially invite you to Freedom, A Tribute to 9/11.  The concert will feature 9 vocalists from ERHS performing patriotic music and dedicating a concert to that fateful day, our armed services, and the future.  The concert is free to the public (a donation will be collected for the ERHS Theater Program) and will begin at 7:00.  We hope that you will attend.  Please email misnerj[at]lake[dot]k12.fl.us for more information.
