DURATION: Approx. 1 hour
Meeting will be recorded. URL will be posted after meeting at http://recordings.coldfusionmeetup.com
TOPIC DESCRIPTION: (provided by the speaker)
If you run a production CF server, you’ve likely hit a situation where the server seems to hang up. Do you know why it’s happened? How to troubleshoot it? It may not be CF’s fault at all, though it tends to get the blame. In this presentation, I’ll point out a few tools (some free, some commercial, some built-in and some third-party) which you ought to know about when the stuff hits the fan. With the right tools and just a little understanding, you can be a CF troubleshooting superhero.
SPEAKER: (provided by the speaker)
A veteran ColdFusion developer and troubleshooter since 1997 with over 25 years in IT, Charlie Arehart is a longtime contributor to the community and a recognized Adobe Community Professional. As an independent consultant, he provides short-term troubleshooting/tuning assistance and training/mentoring for organizations of all sizes and CF experience levels (carehart.org/consulting).
Besides running the 2000-member Online ColdFusion Meetup (coldfusionmeetup.com, an online CF user group), he also hosts the UGTV repository of recorded presentations from hundreds of speakers (carehart.org/ugtv) and the CF411 site of over 1000 tools/resources for CFers (cf411.com). A certified Advanced CF Developer and Instructor in each release since CF4, Charlie’s spoken at each of the major CF conferences worldwide and is a contributor to all three volumes of Ben Forta’s ColdFusion 8 and 9 WACK books.
RECORDING: As always, the meeting will be recorded, and the recording URL will be posted after the meeting at http://recordings.coldfusionmeetup.com.
A downloadable FLV file will be made available after each meeting, offered as a link from the recordings page. As for creating other file formats (such as mp3, mp4, etc.), you can find discussion of the challenges creating such downloadable recordings here: http://www.meetup.com/coldfusionmeetup/pages/Challenges_creating_downloadable_recordings/.
LOGGING IN: When you login to the Connect room (the experts.acrobat.com/cfmeetup link above) to view the meeting, PLEASE USE THE “LOGIN AS GUEST” option, and USE YOUR NAME, but do NOT attempt to use your meetup.com username/password or any Connect account. Just sign in as a guest.
RSVP, but only if coming: We do appreciate folks RSVPing if they plan to come (using the link on this email or at the meetup site), though it’s not mandatory and it’s not a commitment. But there’s no need to RSVP if you can’t make it let alone explain why you can’t. With over 1,900 members, no worries. 🙂
