The Web Applications team builds database enabled self service web applications for students, staff and faculty using ColdFusion, MS SQL Server and Oracle enterprise level technologies. The IT Lead ColdFusion Developer will lead the development team during the lifecycle of the project; and lead the execution against project plans and delivery commitments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level expertise and understanding of methodologies and coding while working with the development team and will help Mentor and coach others developers and team to grow by sharing technical knowledge. The successful candidate will also direct the day- to-day activities of the developers and mentor them. This position will not have supervisory/personnel management responsibilities. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the planning of work to be accomplished and accordingly develop software development plans/specifications and schedules, against project plans and delivery commitments, while assigning and reassigning tasks from one team member to another, to balance workloads and ensure timely task completion and project delivery
  • Managing and executing software development plans by articulating and communicating to the team the project, their assignments and deadlines and time frames for completion of their individual tasks, while adhering to methodologies, coding standards
  • Continuously developing coding development processes including coding standards, technical documentation standards, and build and configuration management and ensure that such practices are followed
  • Reviewing and reporting on work in progress; and reviewing completed work for coding quality using source code walkthroughs, timeliness and technical accuracy to ensure that work priorities, deadlines and quality have been met
  • Designing, programming, engineering, re-engineering and maintaining front-end applications and back-end functionality using ColdFusion, Oracle and SQL; providing advice and instructions on coding practices and procedures to be used during the lifecycle of the project
  • Maintaining coding standards and guidelines and conduct code reviews with development team; demonstrating good communication and team skills while working with the team of developers; leading, facilitating and coordinating work assignments to accomplish project tasks in a timely manner
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned

A high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience of which includes two (2) years as a Lead Developer and at least three (3) years as a ColdFusion Developer is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred.
