The Role:
This is a newly created role, reporting to the Global IT Manager based in Europe, you will be responsible for: Working with management in the USA and Europe Continued web development and up keep of systems Working in both PHP and Coldfusion Due to several inherited systems, the goal will be to eventually phase out PHP but in the short-term support this PHP ( mix of environments) Manage and work on a multiple systems and platforms with documentation, procedures and to standardize moving forward. The Requirements:

  • Degree with 3 – 5 years work experience
  • ColdFusion Version 7 or higher experience ( 3+ years)
  • ColdFusion user interface development, components development and Report Builder
  • MS SQL and MySQL Database experience, JavaScript, AJAX, PHP, Unix, Linux
  • Experience coding web applications in both PHP and ColdFusion and developing and managing CMS systems (ideally Drupal and CommonSpot by PaperThin)
  • Application integration experience with regards to sharing data between information silos and international business units
  • Able and willing to create and maintain good documentation and processes
  • Well organized with attention to detail with solid communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Self starter with strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills

Resource would work from end-to-end in the delivery (eliciting requirements to clients, design, development, testing, production support). The current resource would continue to work but from the offshore environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Programming in an Advanced Cold Fusion 5 environment using HTML, CFML, and Javascript with an Oracle database.
  • Debugging and troubleshooting code creation and remediation based upon test results and analyst requests.

The applicant must demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of business information systems terminology, usage, hardware, software, communication and system components for support of customer business information systems.
  • Ability to perform research, analysis, design, development and implementation of existing and proposed business information systems, develop requirements, specifications and identify solutions that achieve optimum performance and cost effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of source control and environment staging methodologies and strategies.
  • Capacity as a self-starter and a quick learner who is comfortable working on a team and also independently, under tight and ever-changing deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or associated discipline (an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree may be substituted)
  • 5 to 7 years of related programming experience to include competency in the development environment as well as knowledge and application of the Systems Development Lifecycle.
  • Employ good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to obtain a Postal Sensitive Security Clearance
